Eva-Maria Schitter is a visual artist and researcher. In her artistic practice, she sometimes draws on the photographic gravity and the indexical "nature" of images, while in other cases she uses their lightness to destabilize and recalibrate things situated along the continuum between reality and possibility. Her works are typically embedded in larger bodies of work. Through various interventions, she weaves the images into narratives that unmistakably carry a fictional trace.
